Disappointment (Friday, September 24, 2010 / 2:20 PM)

Disappointment is the feeling of dissatisfaction that follows the failure of expectations to manifest. Similar to regret, it differs in that the individual feeling regret focuses primarily on the personal choices that contributed to a poor outcome, while the individual feeling disappointment focuses on the outcome itself.[1] It is a source of psychological stress.[2] The study of disappointment—its causes, impact and the degree to which individual decisions are motivated by a desire to avoid it—is a focus in the field of decision analysis,[1][3] as disappointment is one of two primary emotions involved in decision-making.[4]

I don't know about you, but to me, disappointment is probably the worst feeling in the world.

What are the bad feelings we can have? Ohyeah, there is still jealousy. That sucks just as bad as disappointment. I guess, I broke all the rules in a relationship. I have incited the extreme feelings. All through these months, I have been the one crossing the line.

If you have watched Ninja Assassin, you probably can recall the scene where Raizo has this routine where he has to carefully step on the wooden planks before he reaches his master? Else he falls down and gets cut by the knives hidden below the planks?

Yeah, I have been stepping and putting myself on precarious situations though I know I would be found out sooner or later. I don't think of the consequences when I do something. Just like I talk without going through my mind and goes "oh shit, I shouldn't have said that" 10 seconds later. If I say I have been cut by the knives below, I would say the other person have been scarred by the knives.

Ever heard of the story of the boy and the sheep? Or what they say <<狼来了>>? Google it if you haven't, but yeah. When I was young, I always thought of it as an easy story to understand, the morals are upfront where even kids can tell what is wrong.

Back to reality, it seems like upholding the morals is so much tougher than just picking out the morals from the book. It's like how we always criticize someone up down left right, we never looked at it from their point of view. Ok, I am starting to digress. "Practice what you preach" never seemed more relevant than now.

Maybe I should come up with a list. I will strike them off when I have kicked the habits away. Yes, I should.
